Chinese President Xi Jinping met in Xiamen to attend the Nineth meeting of BRICS leaders and South African President Jacob Zuma in emerging markets and developing country dialogues on Sept.4th, 2017.
President Mr.Xi said that in recent years, China-South comprehensive strategic partnership has maintained a strong momentum of development, bilateral relations in the best period of history. China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the South, with more fruitful results, and continuously enrich the connotation of China-South comprehensive strategic partnership to achieve common development and progress.
President Mr.Xi stressed that the two countries should put the important cooperation consensus into practice, and coordinate the promotion of marine economy, capacity and other areas of cooperation. The two countries have maintained close communication and cooperation within the BRICS framework, and South Africa will take over the chairmanship of the BRICS countries next year, and China will work closely with the south.
President Mr.Zuma said he thanked China for its excellent preparations for the BRICS summit. The two countries have successfully implemented the strategic cooperation framework, and the bilateral cooperation mechanism has been fruitful, and the two sides have made positive achievements in exchange and cooperation in economic, trade, investment, infrastructure and humanities. South-China maintains close communication and coordination in multilateral affairs. The South is ready to deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation between South Africa and the African countries in the implementation of the Johannesburg Summit on China-Africa cooperation. South Africa is ready to meet with China to support the BRICS leaders this year and next.
